Transition Committee Seeking Input on School Name
In the Spring of 2011 we conducted an initial survey on the topic of a school name for the new school that would be created at the end of the Blyth-Hullett transition year. For a variety of reasons, when the Transition Committee met in June the members chose to delay their decision regarding a name.
In September the Transition Committee decided to re-open the survey to gather additional information to help them make the most informed decision they could. At the time this survey is re-opened it is important to note that all original submissions will still be used in the naming process and we would ask everyone to encourage all students, parents and community members to share their ideas with us. Please note that the survey will be open for 15 days (October 1 - October 14, 2011). Please use the form below to submit your suggestions.

Background
In June 2010, the Board voted to consolidate some K-8 students from Blyth PS and the K-8 students from Hullett Central PS at the Hullett Central PS site in September 2012. Other Blyth students will be attending the new Maitland River Elementary School in Wingham.
Transition Committees were established for the school communities involved and each group met for the first time in June 2011. These committees were established to assist the schools, students, parents and staff plan for the changes and make the transition as seamless as possible. The committees also discussed whether new names should be considered for the consolidated schools, or whether the receiving schools would retain their existing name. The Blyth-Hullett Transition Committee met on June 23, 2011 and decided to defer discussion and recommendations on possible name changes until the fall. The meeting schedule of this committee will be posted in September when the dates have been finalized.
