About 2 years ago a group of students from Brussels Public School established a social action group , Kids Care, with the intent of making a difference in the world. The group, under the guidance of teachers Shannon McGavin and later Jennifer Graham, organized a series of fundraisers in order to raise money to build a school in Africa. On Monday, June 21 the group had an assembly at school to conclude the school project. The group collected $11,500 and a school will be built in Africa with Brussels P.S. as the donor. There was also money left for a water purification system. Special recognition goes out to the students in the Kids Care group and the wider Brussels community without whose generosity none of this would have been possible
